PRAXIS - Building Knowledge for Action - facilitates exciting and transformative learning processes to sustain vibrant organizations and communities. We achieve this mission using the following tools: program evaluation, community-based research, strategic planning, organizational assessment, educational workshops, and other specialized services.

The evaluation workshop was not only informative, but fun and interactive. There were many useful tools and examples to help begin the evaluation process in our organization, provided in an adult learning format, with movement and discussion throughout the day. Participants were engaged and active. The day went quickly. We have already begun using the information and will be doing follow-up sessions to focus our efforts across our many programs.

Educational Workshops

PRAXIS develops and facilitates workshops on evaluation, community-based research, neighborhood and community organizing, specific research methods (e.g., interviewing, conducting focus groups and photovoice), facilitating effective meetings, and other topics relevant to the changing educational and training needs of nonprofit boards, coalitions, steering committees, and organizations.

PRAXIS workshops are:

  • Interactive, participatory and engaging
  • Based on adult learning principles that support the immediate application of knowledge
  • Developed to meet the unique training needs of organizations and community groups
  • Accompanied by workbooks and resources that support learning and application beyond the workshop
  • Geared toward the development of social learning networks
