Strategic Planning
Strategic planning is the process by which an organization’s leaders determine where the organization is now, what it would like to be in the future and how it will get there. In other words, a collaborative vision is developed for the organization’s future and priorities, procedures, and operations are established to achieve the vision. It is a process of organizational self-assessment, and confronting difficult choices and establishing priorities to set a course leaders believe is important, wise, and achievable.

- Ensures the most effective use of the organization's resources by focusing on key priorities
- Provides a base from which progress can be measured and establishes a mechanism for informed change when needed
- It is an opportunity to listen to everyone's opinion in order to build consensus about where the organization is going
There are many different approaches to strategic planning and no one model works for all organizations.
